About Nammu's Mom and how did it all start…

As a mom of three active boys, I searched everywhere for a swim cap that my children would not only wear all day long, but a cap that could withstand the test of staying on their heads through swimming, diving, splashing, and hours of active play both in an out of the water. As my eldest son has beauty spots on his head, sun safety for his head was imperative, so I tried several styles of hats, but none stood up to the test of active kids’ play. Regular sun and UV protective hats would fall off, silicone was not comfortable, and the traditional swim caps were not "cool" to wear, so they refused.

I wanted all my boys to be protected from the sun not just on land, but underwater as well, and through my search for the perfect solution, it became abundantly clear that no matter where we went, be it swimming pools, water parks or splash pads, kids wore UV protective swim suits and sun screen but UV protective head gear was either not effective or non existent!!

So, through my own needs, I developed Nammu, fashionable sun protecting Swimming cap!
